After almost a year working with
.raw, they commissioned me to produce their showreel, designed to embody the essence and soul of the studio. From concept to animation, I worked closely with the team for more than six months.
Every image, word, movement and transition, was carefully developed to precisely express their identity.
An original soundtrack was specially composed
to reflect the studio's direction and provide an experience that extends to the audio dimension.
Huge thanks to the team for their total trust they placed in me on this massive project, and for their support throughout the many versions and months of work.
It has also been adapted for social networks in a vertical version, which you can discover
here.

Night Time Stories is a UK label producing and distributing innovative electronic and alternative music that challenges traditional genres. Their visual identity was recently redesigned by the Slovenian studio
.raw, based in Ljubljana. Thanks to their unique approach, exploring art, minimalism and original thinking, they have created a new identity that is both striking and full of meaning.
Here's the motion showcase made to present their complete redesign of the label, featuring the logotype, website, artists and their releases, as well as merchandising.

36 Days of Type is an annual challenge to the international creative community. Its aim is to express and share its identity by creating or interpreting one glyph per day for 36 days. Having already participated assiduously in the 2021 edition, I felt the need to completely rethink my approach.
Instead of designing a daily animation showcasing a single glyph, I decided to animate all the letters in a single composition (just below). The aim was to give life to words with some personal meaning.
Each letter is animated differently and in a simple way, in order to keep an optimal readability and a certain coherence.

Can’t See On CDJ(S) is a series of graphic animations exploring an analogue technique that uses persistence of vision to bring to life a sequence of rotating images. Called phenakistiscope, it requires specific conditions of speed and light, but the effect is easily captured by a camera.

The series features 3 discs, with unique animations on the front and a presentation of the concept on the back. Each piece is protected by an elegant tracing paper sleeve, which subtly reveals its contents.
This experimental project enabled me to develop the complete visual identity: packaging, disc designs and protective sleeves.

Explorations
(05)
Here are some animations that I made entirely by hand. Working away from the screen has allowed me to return to the fundamental artistic mediums. Imperfections, usually shunned on the computer, here add texture and variation and bring an authentic charm to the visual aspect. These processes are tedious to put in place, but they provide unusual creative inspiration.

To create this piece, I pixelated the digital animation onto a grid, traced the frames onto grid sheets, cut out each letter and painted white over it to soften the grids and add some texture. Finally, I photographed each image and assembled it in sequence to create the final animation.

[04/22]This other hand-crafted animation was inspired by the amazing work of Lucas Hesse. The steps involved in creating this one are more or less the same as before.
To take the project a step further and keep a real physical object of it, I created an animated book of this analog motion.

Designing this sticker pack was my first step into the world of physical creations. They take up the codes of motion and graphic design, through a sober and playful universe.
Each sticker is printed with a matt textured finish, and some have holographic and mirror effects to add substance, texture and detail.
They have been designed to exist both physically and digitally, and can be accessed directly as animated versions on social networks.
To access the digital version, you can follow the tutorial below. Simply search for my name in your social network’s sticker library. Hosted on Giphy, they are available on all partner networks : TikTok, Messenger, Instagram, Snapchat, WhatsApp...

Motion Motion is a yearly festival dedicated to the animated graphic arts. Over the course of 3 days, there is a succession of conferences and exhibitions put on by leading figures in the field. The organisers invite the creatives involved to share their work and take part in a screening for a chance to win an award trophy.
Here’s my entry, which was not selected.
For this project, I concentrated on transitions, fluidity of movements and their coordination with the rhythm.
Many thanks to Kaap for allowing me to use his track Razor.
